The updated half-up-half-down
The show: The Attico.
The inspiration: “This look, originally created by hairstylist Jawara Wauchope, was inspired by the timeless beauty of Italian cinema: soft, romantic, a little undone, but still incredibly chic. I loved the idea of taking that nostalgia and modernising it for today’s woman, who is effortless, spontaneous and naturally elegant. Overall, it embodied dishevelled grace—a balance of elegance and edge.”
The look: “The texture is airy and soft. There’s movement, but nothing feels overly styled. The half-up section gives height and shape, while the loose pieces around the face add a dreamy, lived-in look. The bow is the finishing touch, bringing a touch of femininity without feeling precious.”

The process:
- Prepare damp hair with a product like Dyson’s Chitosan pre-styling cream to set the foundation of the style and add slip.
- Add a sea-salt spray or multi-use styling spray for organic texture.
- Dry using the diffuser attachment on the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer to add movement.
- Gather the top section loosely at the back and secure it with a bow.
The perfectly imperfect up-do
The show: Balmain.
The inspiration: “This look, also by Boissinot, captures the feeling of coming home from a day at the beach. The hair is textured, salt-kissed and relaxed but still undeniably beautiful.”
The Look: “Hair is matte and styled into softly separated waves that have an ease to them. There’s no obvious styling, and everything feels natural and undone. This is where the art of the stylist is best showcased.”
The process
- Mist with a sea-salt spray. If your hair is a little dry and prone to tangling, add a few spritzes of Dyson Omega leave-in conditioning spray.
- Run your fingers lightly through the hair to create natural separation then scrunch hair gently by hand to bring out its texture.
- Use the Dyson Supersonic r with its diffuser attachment. This will further enhance movement while controlling any unwanted frizz.
- Let pieces fall naturally to enhance that effortless look.
The Cool Beach Wave
The show: Balmain.
The inspiration: “The inspiration for this look, designed by hairstylist Damien Boissinot, came from that instinctive moment after a long day outdoors when you sweep your hair back without thinking. It’s natural, feminine and beautifully imperfect.”
The look: “A low, relaxed up-do with flyaways that feel sun-softened rather than messy. It works in a wispy, textured version as well as one that’s smoothed and more polished.”
The process
- Use the Dyson Airwrap with its barrel attachment to smooth the roots of the hair while adding movement. This adds slight body as well as a soft wave or curl, depending on the size of the barrel used.
- Tie the hair into a loose pony. You can also twist it into a soft knot, depending on your preference. The key here is not to pull it too tightly.
- Loosen a few small sections of hair from your ponytail to create the style’s desired dimension. If you have a fringe or face-framing layers, free a few pieces from the ponytail completely and shape them around the face.
- Finish with a product like the Dyson Chitosan post-style serum, lightly applying onto the hair so as not to compromise its natural movement.
The grown-up braid
The show: The Attico.
The inspiration: “This look, also by Wauchope, takes the classic braid and reinterprets it [with] a sophisticated, almost architectural, feel. It’s clean, powerful and elegant, and is something that complements structured tailoring beautifully.”
The look: “Roots are ultra-sleek and sculpted to perfection, and transition into a long, tight braid. The finish is high-gloss and polished, almost liquid in appearance. It’s a look that feels both strong and refined.”
The process
Smooth the hair and reduce excess volume with the Dyson Supersonic r, using the concentrator attachment and a brush. This controls the airflow of the hairdryer, making
styling faster and allowing for a more polished look.- Add sleekness with a straightener. Gather hair into a low ponytail and secure it firmly.
- Braid the ponytail tightly.
- Finish with a post-style serum or cream for satin-like shine plus control. You can also try a few drops of Dyson’s Omega hydrating hair oil for added smoothness
