Natural fibres look beautiful and behave badly in sunlight, so they need to be protected by layering them with blinds or bespoke shutters. Silk is the worst offender and can show visible loss within a single Australian summer. Linen and cotton weaken and yellow. They’re lovely choices for rooms that don’t cop direct sun.
